Submissions

There is wisdom in books. Publishing is a business. Because we believe strongly in both these principles, we urge you to take advantage of the books and other helpful resources we link to on this page.

Books:

We encourage you to read some of the many good books that explain how to write a great nonfiction book proposal, how to work well with literary agents and editors, and how to promote your work most effectively. Shown on the right are a few that we like.

Online resources:
When you're ready to query us, please follow our guidelines carefully so that we can give your work the most timely and careful review. We welcome either a brief query letter or a detailed proposal. Please remember we do NOT represent fiction, stage plays, screenplays, poetry, or books for children or young adults. To save money, time and trees, we accept initial submissions by email only; paper submissions will be discarded unopened. Also, our telephone number does not appear anywhere on this Web site. The written word is our business, and we do not accept or reply to telephone queries.

Please send your query or full proposal to:

submissions at twliterary dot com

We receive an overwhelming amount of spam email and computer viruses, so please include the words "Author Submission:" in your subject line and include your detailed materials in the body of your message rather than as a file attachment.

We are looking forward to hearing from you and learning about your work.
