Nena Baker
Nena's forthcoming book is The Body Toxic: How the Hazardous Chemistry of Everyday Things Threatens Our Health and Well-Being (North Point Press/Farrar, Straus & Giroux), an eye-opening investigation into the chemical contaminents within all of us. In the tradition of Silent Spring, Fast Food Nation and High and Mighty, this important work of investigative journalism offers an in-depth look at the science and politics of the environmental chemicals that accumulate in our bodies. She recently published an opinion piece on the topic. Nena is a former staff writer for The Arizona Republic and The Oregonian. Her award-winning investigation of Nike's Indonesian factories led to numerous improvements for workers. She also has been a national business reporter and editor for United Press International in New York and a Davenport Business Journalism Fellow at the University of Missouri. Her writing also has appeared in SELF, Town & Country, Seventeen and Mademoiselle. |
